The Ryan Beedie Chair in Finance (Professor or senior Associate Professor) (#61)

The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University invites applications from outstanding finance scholars (full or associate professors) for the newly created Ryan Beedie Chair in Finance. By joining the Finance Area at Beedie, you will be part of a collegial and productive group of scholars with the highest standards of research and teaching excellence. The Beedie School is accredited by both AACSB and EQUIS, and is signatory to Principles for Responsible Management Education. We have programs at the Undergraduate, Masters, Ph.D., and Executive levels, including Canada’s first Executive MBA program. The successful candidate should have a track record of publications in the top Finance journals and an active research agenda. All areas of Finance are considered. The Ryan Beedie Chair holder is expected to supervise graduate and Ph.D. students, deliver high quality instruction, and provide leadership to the research program.

The Keith Beedie Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Professor or senior Associate Professor) (#62)

The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University invites applications from outstanding Innovation and Entrepreneurship scholars (full or senior associate professors) for the newly created Keith Beedie Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. By joining Beedie and leading the I & E concentration, you will be a mentor, leader and developer of scholars with the highest standards of research and teaching excellence. The Beedie School is accredited by both AACSB and EQUIS, and is signatory to Principles for Responsible Management Education. The chair is expected to take a leadership role in creating and managing the Innovation and Entrepreneurship concentration including: research, graduate teaching, and oversee innovation centres such as RADIUS.

Aboriginal Initiatives (Assistant Professor) (#63)

The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position (Rank: assistant or associate professor) to support our initiatives to incorporate an understanding of aboriginal issues and perspectives into our programs.

The School has taken an important first step by establishing the Executive MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership, now in its second year. In addition to bringing expertise to support best delivery of this program, the individual will be expected to support students as well as faculty members who wish to incorporate aboriginal issues and ways of thinking into their courses across the School’s curriculum. While the primary responsibility will be providing this expertise, the successful candidate will also have a strong research and publication record in one or more of our existing areas of business including, but not limited to, organizational behaviour, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, or strategy. Additionally, the candidate must have demonstrated teaching competence in one of those areas at the undergraduate, graduate, and/or executive education levels. A Ph.D. is required. Candidates of Aboriginal heritage are preferred.

Accounting (#64)

The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University seeks outstanding candidates for one position in Accounting (Rank: tenure-track assistant professors or lecturer). The successful candidates for the tenure-track positions must demonstrate: the ability and interest to conduct high-quality, scholarly research; teaching competency at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels; and leadership abilities. Ph.D. is required although ABD near completion will be considered. The successful candidate for the lecturer position will be expected to teach eight sections per year (two to three sections per semester) undergraduate courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation and/or auditing. The candidate will also be expected to have an interest in scholarship and to actively participate in service to the university community. Applicants should have a PhD or Master's degree in accounting or a related business field and a CPA designation. Experience in teaching accounting at the post-secondary level would be an asset.

Marketing Management (#65)

The Marketing area is looking for a colleague at the lecturer or tenure-track assistant/associate Professor level. The responsibilities of the position include academic research, teaching and service depending on the type of position filled. The position requires teaching courses such as Marketing Strategy, Marketing Management, Services Marketing and/or B2B Marketing. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who have experience in these areas, as well as teaching experience at the graduate level.

Managerial Economics (#66)

The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University seeks outstanding candidates for one position in managerial Economics (Rank: tenure-track assistant professors or lecturer). The successful candidates for the tenure-track positions must demonstrate: the ability and interest to conduct high-quality, scholarly research; teaching competency at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels; and leadership abilities. Ph.D. is required although ABD near completion will be considered. The successful candidate for the lecturer position will be expected to teach eight sections per year (two to three sections per semester). Candidates should have an active and productive research program at the intersection of strategy and economics and be able to teach classes in Managerial Economics at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Technology and Operations Management (#67)

Technology and Operations Management (TOM) area is looking for a colleague at the Lecturer level. The candidate will have a Ph.D. in Operations Management or a closely related area, with a strong background and training in quantitative methodologies. Demonstrated excellence, or potential to achieve excellence, in teaching is required. Successful candidate will be expected to contribute via high quality curriculum development and student engagement. The candidate will be expected to teach quantitative courses in areas such as Data and Decisions, Simulation, Decision Analysis, Operations Management, and Supply Chain Management, both at undergraduate and graduate levels. All candidates regardless of their areas of research will be considered, however priority will be given to candidates whose interests closely align with the teaching needs as well as the strategic priorities of the School.

The successful candidates for the tenure-track positions must demonstrate: the ability and interest to conduct high-quality, scholarly research; teaching competency at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels; and leadership abilities. The successful candidate for the lecturer positions will be expected to teach six to eight sections per year (two to three sections per semester) in the graduate or undergraduate programs. The candidate will also be expected to have an interest in scholarship and to actively participate in service to the university community. Applicants should have a PhD or Master's degree or a related business field such as a CPA designation for the accounting position.
