Introduction to a new crowdfunding business model: An innovative mechanism for establishing business partnerships

UBC Asia Forestry Research Center, Grizzly Bear Institute of Canada and SFU Jack Austin Center for Asia Pacific Business Studies host a discussion on the Chinese version of crowdfunding. This business model first appeared in China in 2013 and is increasingly popular among entrepreneurs.

What and How Entrepreneurial Startups Learn: Identifying the Types of Knowledge that Flow Through Network Ties

The CPA Innovation Centre presents research drawing on six cases of private start-ups in the Chinese synthetic dye industry. Johann Peter Murmann, Professor of Strategic Management at the AGSM - UNSW Australia Business School, identified eight types of knowledge that flow through entrepreneur-incumbent networks during the foundation of start-ups and explored why variation in the knowledge obtained produced significant differences in long-term performance.

Be an Industry Guest Facilitator for the BUS 343 "Marketing Me" event

We invite alumni across various industries to return to campus as Industry Guest Facilitators. Your role is to listen and provide feedback on students' personal branding pitches to help prepare them for the "real business world" so they can network and pitch themselves or their business. You'll provide immediate feedback to each student and speak about your own career journey.
