BBA Degree Structure

BBA Degree Structure
Please consult the SFU Academic Calendar and/or the BBA degree checklist for details on each of the BBA program requirements listed. Visit the BBA Curriculum page for more details on our BBA degree structure and course requirements.
*Optional Integrated Learning Experiences

Participation in optional integrated learning experiences may increase the time it takes to complete the BBA degree program. Students are encouraged to consult respective student service areas to determine how these experiences will fit into their overall degree plan.

Degree Requirements

The degree requirements for our Business Programs are found on the SFU Academic Calendar. We encourage you to refer to the Academic Calendar based on your term of admission when planning your courses.

The Graduation Checklist compiles your GPA and course and unit requirements for graduation. It is essential to confirm your progress and plan your courses for the upcoming terms.

Review the requirements checklist that matches your year of admission to the BBA Major program:

Are you unsure which checklist applies or if you can move years? Don’t see your admission year listed? Connect with an Academic Advisor.

You have nine concentrations to choose from for your Business program. The requirement term for your concentration is based on the term of your declaration. For example, if you declare your concentration in Fall 2023, you will follow the Fall 2023 requirements for the concentration you declared. For this reason, we advise you to declare your concentration sooner than later. You can add or remove the concentration at any time.

Please use the Concentration Application Form to declare or modify your concentration.

Track Your Degree Progress

An advising transcript gives you a snapshot of your academic history at Simon Fraser University and can help map out your remaining degree requirements. Please visit the SFU Transcript Page for instructions on generating an advising transcript. Need help reading the transcript? Connect with our academic advisors! We can teach you how to read and interpret your advising transcript.

The Academic Progress Report (APR) is an interactive course mapping tool designed to help you understand your degree and program requirements. It provides a starting point for making informed decisions about your academic program.

OPPORTUNITIES TO ENRICH YOUR LEARNING EXPERIENCE

We encourage you to take on opportunities to expand your learning experience outside of the classroom, explore your career options, and develop relevant skills.

  • Explore Co-operative Education opportunities that deliver skills and competencies in your area of concentration.
  • Consider a Study Abroad experience to gain new perspectives on the global nature of business.
  • Engage in student clubs and organizations that provide opportunities to collaborate with like-minded peers.
  • Pursue Case Competitions that challenge you to think critically about the current business cases in your area(s) of concentration.

The information provided on this page is based on an interpretation of the official information published on the SFU Academic Calendar. Please refer to the SFU site for details on the Business Major program and course requirements.
