Career Tip of the Week (March 2nd – 6th): During the Information Interview
When conducting an information interview, be sure to stay focused and stick with your list of questions but also allow for spontaneous discussion. Take notes and pay careful attention to what is being said. You may share some of your background but be careful not to dominate the conversation as the time should be about gathering information about the job, industry, or company. Be sure to ask your contact if he/she has suggestions of other people you could speak with in other organizations. Finish the interview within the agreed time frame (15-20 minutes)!

Everything is going great. You aced the interview and are now at the hottest restaurant in town having a dinner meeting with the partners. Suddenly, the CFO hands you the wine list and says “Why don’t you select the wine?” Now what? Where do you start? White or red, dry or sweet, and how much to spend, never mind the quantity to order to ensure there is enough for everyone at the table. Join certified Sommelier, Tim Ellison, as you taste your way through a lively workshop covering the basic styles and types of wine. Improve you appreciation with the structured tasting approach. Do you really have to sniff the cork? Find out during this informative, hands-on, tasting event. This session will help you navigate the world of wine for business and pleasure!
