Call for Peak Performance and Elite Case Challenge Organizing Committees | Deadline: May 13

The Beedie School of Business will be organizing two internal competitions over the summer (July) and will be looking for Organizing Committee members.  If you are interested, please contact Melissa-Sue Read (mar2@sfu.ca) by May 13, 2011 at 11:59PM.
If you have never competed or would like to work on putting these large scale events on, we would like to have you involved.  The two events are:

Peak Performance – a multi-day case competition for 1st-2nd year students  set for July 14
Elite Case Challenge – a 24hour case competition for 3rd-4th year students set July 28

We are putting out a call for the following positions for both competitions :

Chair
Internal Communications
External Communications
Logistics Coordinator

The organizing committees for both competitions will have a lot of support and training from the Beedie School of Business and there is no need for sponsorship as the school will cover the cost of the event.

Students organizing Peak, you will be able to participate in Elite and for those organizing Elite, you will still have an opportunity to facilitate a team in Peak if you choose.

[Finance Club] Finance International Case Competition (FICC) Chair | Application Deadline: May 11

Finance Club is now looking for a dedicated individual who is interested in becoming the chair of this year’s Finance International Case Competition (FICC) happening in the fall.

As FICC chair, your responsibilities will include leading an organizing committee to successfully oversee all aspects of the event – from the initial planning to the actual execution of the competition. You’ll have the opportunity to not only gain leadership skills, but to also expand your network, interact with corporate sponsors, and ultimately making a memorable impact on the business community, both locally and internationally.

The position will last until the end of November 2012, when the event takes place. It will require an extensive commitment of time throughout the planning process continuing to the day of the event.

fill it out.

Social Entrepreneurship Challenge 2012: Info Session & Simulation | May 19

Do you want to learn more about the Social Entrepreneurship Challenge (SEC) and how to get involved?

“Experience Social Entrepreneurship” is an event in partnership with AIESEC SFU and SFU Global Agents to give students of all faculties an opportunity to learn more about what Social Entrepreneurship is in order for them to see if they are interested in participating in the Social Entrepreneurship Challenge.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 19th from 10 AM to 2 PM at the SFU Surrey Campus (SUR 5240). You will get an opportunity to hear an external speaker with expertise in the Social Entrepreneurship field and participate in an interactive simulation session, which will demonstrate the requirements of the competition. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

[BASS] Beedie FROSH 2012 Mentor Applications | Deadline: May 6

Here is your chance to be a part of Beedie FROSH 2012 – one of the largest annual Beedie events of the year! Beedie FROSH is an introduction to welcome incoming first-year Beedie students into the Beedie School of Business.  We are opening up applications for the position of Beedie FROSH Mentor.  To make this the best possible event, we need the best FROSH Crew.  You do not want to miss the experience of a lifetime!

Being part of the Beedie FROSH 2012 Crew will give you valuable skills and experiences, the opportunity to interact with and mentor incoming Beedie students, expand your network, create lasting friendships, and last but not least to have lots of fun! As a Beedie FROSH Crew member, your position as a Beedie FROSH Mentor will run from June to December 2012.

This year, we have combined the roles and responsibilities of Mentor and Volunteer into one. Thus, the Beedie FROSH 2012 Crew will be made up of just Beedie FROSH Mentors who will be responsible for both mentorship for FROSHees as well as operational tasks. A detailed description of the new roles and responsibilities for this position is listed in the Beedie FROSH 2012 Mentor Application Form.

[CaseIT 2013] Marketing & Media OC Applications | April 26

CaseIT is SFU’s premier case competition annually held in February where students from all around the world converge at SFU’s downtown campus for a 4 day life changing event. Now here is your chance to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.

Network and work closely with industry professionals from CIOVAN, CGI, Coast Capital Savings, SAP Business Objects and many more! Meet fellow students from schools such as the University of Sydney, National University of Singapore, Indiana University Kelley School of Business among other top institutions in the world. But more importantly collaborate together with the brightest SFU students to bring together this world class event!

We are currently accepting applications for the Marketing & Media Team for CaseIT 2013. Application forms and information about the different positions can be found here.
