Summit First-Year Transition Program Registration Now Open!

Summit will set students up for success in their first year by beginning with a five-night stay in SFU Residence. Programming will continue throughout the Fall and Spring. A few highlights of Summit include:

  • A year-long, non-credit experiential program where students will explore, design, and customize their first year
  • Open to new incoming students in all programs*
  • Students attend mock lectures facilitated by SFU faculty members and instructional support
  • Students engage one-on-one with SFU staff to develop personalized action plans
  • Students receive ongoing support from SFU staff and peers (Student Engagement Coordinators and Summit Peer Leaders)
  • Participate in a common reading program and discuss the book with their peers

Important details:

  • Summer dates in Residence are from Sunday August 13 to FridayAugust 18, 2017
  • Activities for summer residence and year-round programming will be primarily at the SFU Burnaby campus
  • Students must be newly admitted to SFU from high school and commuting to campus to be eligible
  • There is a program participation fee of $975.00 that includes accommodations and meals for 5 nights (August 13-18) and ongoing programming throughout the academic year
  • There are 75 spots available
