What is the McKinsey Challenge?
An exclusive opportunity to engage with McKinsey consultants over the course of 2 days and work as part of a team to solve a live case on a local business.
- Experience working with teams to tackle a live case
- Learn about McKinsey’s problem solving process
- Engage with other highly talented students
- An opportunity to be selected for an interview for a summer internship
Dates: November 24 and 25
Location: McKinsey Vancouver office
Meals will be provided but no accommodations.
Who is eligible to apply to the McKinsey Challenge?
Undergrad students graduating in 2019 from BCIT, Simon Fraser University, University of British Columbia, and University of Victoria.
We are looking for people looking to make an impact, who are excited to solve problems thrown their way— no prior skills or knowledge of consulting is needed except an open mind and a hands-on attitude.

Students who are not eligible for the McKinsey Challenge (eg. MBA, PhD, LLB) or cannot participate in both days of the McKinsey Challenge may apply to Intern positions by October 29th at 11:59pm PST. You can find the positions posted on the McKinsey Careers website. Students who are looking for a summer internship before completing their final academic semester or year is eligible to apply for a summer internship (graduating between January to September 2019).
Please only apply to the McKinsey Challenge or an Internship position, not both.

Students graduating in 2019 from British Columbia universities have two ways to apply for a summer internship position with McKinsey Canada
Undergrad and Master’s (non MBA) students graduating in 2019 should apply to the McKinsey Challenge by October 29, 11:59PM PST at https://goo.gl/hbxsSP The Challenge is an exclusive opportunity to engage with McKinsey consultants and other students over 2 days and work in teams to solve a live case on a local business.
Submit your most recent unofficial transcript(s) and resume, and select your office preferences for a potential summer internship (should be locations you would like to work upon graduation) ▪ Candidates will be notified by November 10 if they are invited to participate in the Challenge.
Those who are invited to participate must commit to the evening of Nov 24 and all day November 25
Select participants will be invited for interviews after the Challenge – to be scheduled in early December
If you cannot participate in or are not eligible (MBA, PhD, LLB etc) for the McKinsey Challenge, and are graduating in 2019, you can apply directly to the Summer Internship positions by October 29 at 11:59PM PST on the McKinsey Careers website
