[INOV8.CA] The $5 food challenge

Posted on:

Based on the San Francisco Food Bank’s “Hunger Challenge”, the $5 Food Challenge aims to raise awareness about food insecurity in BC.  Participants can take the challenge of spending only $5 a day on food each day for a week (or $35 for the week), and post daily blogs on www.5dollarsaday.ca to share their experience about what it’s like to live on a limited food budget. We hope that participants will consider donating to the SFU food bank the amount of cash they save spending only $35 on food for the week.

This awareness campaign is ran by Jan Hilario, one of the members of inov8.ca. Inov8.ca is one of the research groups at SFU Business.
