Klara Sinclair, BSc, MBA

Director, Student Relations & Programming

Klara oversees the strategy for student relations and programming/activities for students/alumni at the Career Management Centre, working directly with EMBA students and alumni and MBA alumni. Having been in the field for over 10 years, Klara holds a wealth of program development, career advising, and workshop experience with both graduate and undergraduate students in a career search capacity. Her professional experience includes over six years at the Sauder School of Business working with both students and various employers in the business community. Klara holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an EMBA degree, both from Simon Fraser University.

Christine Sjolander, BBA, MScEng

Director, Employer Relations

Christine oversees the employer engagement strategy for the Career Management Centre across both the undergraduate and graduate programs. She is also a national board member for the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE). Her professional experience includes contingency recruiting for several leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and technology companies in the United States and more than ten years in MBA/MBS career development services at the University of California, Irvine and the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences. Christine holds an undergraduate degree in business and a masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Alfred University.

Nancy Fournier, BA, DipEduc (on maternity leave)

Director , Undergraduate Program

Nancy manages the Career Management Centre for undergraduate business students and alumni. She identifies and implements new career programs for BBA students and makes process improvements for the CMC while overseeing a dedicated team of career professionals. Nancy works closely with companies representing all areas of concentration in all industries who wish to connect and build relationships with BBA students. As well, she coordinates the annual on-campus CA Recruit. The majority of Nancy's career has involved working in post-secondary, in career advising, business development, program planning, and ultimately, helping bridge the gap between students, alumni, and employers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology along with a Diploma in Education (Guidance Studies) from UBC and has completed her Global Career Development Facilitator training.

Sabina Tan, B.Com, MBA

Manager, Employer Relations

Sabina works with employers in the community to make sure that they stay connected with the University, expanding employer involvement through the Career Management Centre's numerous engagement opportunities. Sabina has over 16 years of professional experience in business development and account management. She spent 11 of those years working as a University Liaison, building a wide network of corporate contacts in a variety of industries. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration (BCom) with a focus in Marketing, and an MBA specializing in Global Management.

Dorothy Keenan, BA

Manager, MOT Careers

Dorothy is responsible for providing career and resume advice for graduate students in the MBA in Management of Technology program, providing one-on-one advising in the areas of career search and career development. Dorothy has over twenty years of experience working as a career advisor, with the last 15 years focused on BC’s science and technology industry. When not working at SFU, Dorothy operates FutureWorks Training Inc., a company that provides human resources services to growing firms and outplacement services to companies that are downsizing or making a strategic shift. Through her firm, she has assisted over 300 people annually find new careers. Dorothy is originally from Ontario and holds a BA (Psychology) from Trent University.

Robyn Behlke, BA

Manager, Business Career Passport & Finance Careers

Robyn is responsible for assisting undergraduate finance students through facilitating professional skills workshops and providing one-on-one advising appointments related to career search and development. She is the main point of contact for financial services and insurance firms for the Beedie School of Business and also coordinates the annual on-campus finance recruitment events for both undergraduate and graduate business students. Robyn has over 10 years of corporate recruitment and human resources experience in a variety of industries, including six years within the banking and insurance sector, and has recruited for global companies such as Citigroup Inc., Bank of Montreal, and Manulife Financial Group. Robyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business and Management, from Jamestown College in the United States.

Jessica Arratia, BBA (on maternity leave)

Manager, Business Career Passport

Jessica oversees Business Career Passport which, starting in fall 2012, applies to all new undergraduate Beedie students. Her primary responsibilities include the strategy, planning, and marketing of Passport with a goal of preparing undergraduate business students for a successful transition to the workplace and increasing marketability to employers. Jessica previously spent five years as a Career Advisor for Beedie students and alumni. She also brings many years of related experience from her previous role in Human Resources at Kodak where she worked in many HR functions including recruitment, performance management and compensation. While at Kodak, Jessica recruited for positions in many levels and functional areas of the organization and gained valuable insight and experience in employer expectations regarding student and new grad recruitment. Jessica has a joint Bachelors degree in Business Administration (Human Resources) and Psychology from Simon Fraser University and has completed her Global Career Development Facilitator training.

Kathleen McConnell, BA (Political Science)

BBA Career Advisor

Kathleen is a BBA Career Advisor who provides one-on-one advising related to career search and career development, and facilitates career workshops for SFU Beedie students and alumni. Kathleen started her career in retail management, training, and development; as a result, she has hired, trained, and managed hundreds of staff and managers. More recently, Kathleen has worked in career services for the last five years, four of which she spent at the Haskayne School of Business (Calgary, Alberta), working in employer relations, business development, mentorship program management, and recruitment coordination. This experience developed Kathleen's understanding of what employers are looking for in candidates--an understanding she now shares with SFU Beedie students. Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Simon Fraser University.

Eunice Koh, BBA

BBA Career Advisor

Eunice is a BBA Career Advisor who provides one-on-one advising related to career search and career development, and facilitates career workshops for SFU Beedie students and alumni. She is also the Career Management Centre's student business club liaison officer. Eunice completed five business Co-op work terms with Canada Revenue Agency, TELUS, and SFU. Her work experiences were primarily focused on product marketing, development of promotional material, and assisting with a variety of HR functions. Her passion for developing students' career-related skills stems from being a piano teacher for the past nine years, where she works with students of all ages. Eunice holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (Human Resources, Marketing) with a minor in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University.

Michael Rankin, BA (Honours Economics)

BBA Career Advisor

Michael is a BBA Career Advisor who provides one-on-one advising related to career search and career development, and facilitates career workshops for SFU Beedie students and alumni. Michael joins the CMC with over five years of experience in academic and career advising with BCom students at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management in Montreal, where his primary areas of focus were internships and international management opportunities. Prior to his advising roles, Michael was an Analyst at Merrill Lynch in New York and Toronto. He used his knowledge of the financial/investment banking industry to help build and develop the Honours in Investment Management program at McGill, liaising with business professionals, alumni, and faculty. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Economics from Western University (formerly The University of Western Ontario).

Ryan Cole, BTech, MOT MBA

Business Analyst

Beedie Community is a central online hub which facilitates many of the engagement activities supported by the Beedie School of Business. Ryan is responsible for working with this platform and its users, scoping out future project requirements, completing system configuration and new module development, and testing/troubleshooting existing components. Ryan ensures that appropriate processes are put in place to review new projects and feature requests and that the system's integrity is maintained. He also develops documentation and training materials and works closely with the vendor through the new alumni engagement component build out. Ryan has 10 years of experience related to networks, databases, and technology at organizations ranging from a small start-up, Fusion Pipe, to large organizations including Bell Canada, the Canadian Armed Forces, and Peer1 Network. He holds a BTech in Computer Information Systems and is an alumni of the Management of Technology MBA program.

Rochelle Diablo, BA

Events & Marketing Coordinator

Rochelle is responsible for managing the annual Business Career Expo, one of the largest business career fairs in BC, and the annual MBA Reception. Her responsibilities also include business development, reaching out to new industry contacts in sectors that interest students and assessing both their recruitment strategies and how they may partner with the business school. Rochelle previously joined us from Scotia Dealer Advantage, subsidiary of Scotiabank, and brings human resources, sales, marketing experience to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Certificate in Liberal Arts, both from Simon Fraser University.

Preet Brar

Program Assistant

Preet is the first point of contact for all undergraduate student career-related needs, such as how to book career advising appointments, register for events, and access online and in-office career resources. She brings a diverse background with many years experience in banking, recruitment, and the post-secondary sector. Her work experience has provided her valuable insight into understanding the requirements of students and employers. Preet holds a Marketing Management Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, has completed her Global Career Development Facilitator training, and is currently working towards her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Human Resources) at Thompson Rivers University.

Sarah Jiang, BBA

Program Assistant, Student Relations

Sarah is responsible for assisting graduate students/alumni related to the Career Management Centre at the Segal Graduate School of Business. She is your first point of contact for all your career-related needs such as requesting access to online and in-office resources, and registering for events. Sarah has previously worked with TD Canada Trust and the South Granville Seniors Centre and brings several years of customer service and administrative experience to her role as Program Assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in HR and Accounting from Simon Fraser University.

Eilidh Sligo, BA, MSc

Program Assistant, Alumni Tracking

Eilidh is responsible for developing contact with alumni from the SFU Beedie School of Business in order to create an accurate record of career progression and to provide evaluation of the Career Management Centre services. Eilidh brings several years of educational and administrative experience to her current role, having previously worked for universities in the UK. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Retail Management from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Scotland, and an MSc in Tourism Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland.
