Business Career Passport
Get real world ready
Congratulations! As a Beedie School of Business student, you’re on your way to obtaining a first-class education. But do you know:
- What you want to be when you graduate?
- What it takes to get there?
- What employers look for in new graduates?
By completing Business Career Passport, you will answer these questions and graduate ready to launch your career.
What is Business Career Passport?
Based on feedback from students and alumni, and in consultation with employers and recruiters (i.e. the ones that will hire you), the Career Management Centre designed a career preparation program exclusively for you.
- Choose a concentration(s) and experiential learning opportunities based on your interests, skills, and motivators
- Identify opportunities to develop and expand your professional network
- Present yourself as authentic, confident, professional, and prepared
- Demonstrate and communicate focus and direction in your career goals to prospective employers
- Create resumes and cover letters that meet current recruiting and industry standards
- Know how and where to look for work
NOTE: Business Career Passport applies to students admitted to the Beedie School of Business fall 2012 and thereafter. Students admitted before fall 2012 may participate in Passport, but it is not required for graduation.
What does Business Career Passport look like?
Six two-hour workshops required for graduation and optional one-on-one career advising sessions.
How will Business Career Passport fit with my schedule?
You’re busy, we get it. We designed this program for you, so while it is required to graduate, we made this program as flexible as possible:
- No pre-requisites
- Complete workshops in any order (we suggest completing "Self-Assessment" in your first 60 credits)
- Book optional career advising sessions at any time
