Pre-University


PowerPlay

This entrepreneurship competition, a joint undertaking from Powerplay Strategies, the Charles and Eve Chang Foundation, and SFU’s Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection, is held annually at SFU Surrey and engages students from Grades 4 to 7 classrooms.

Youth Entrepreneurship Leadership Launchpad (YELL)

A hands-on, experiential accelerator for high school students interested in all areas of business and entrepreneurship. Students engage with local entrepreneurs and potential future mentors.

Undergraduate


Charles Chang Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Open to all SFU students, the certificate recognizes the value of entrepreneurship and innovation in cultivating creativity, adaptability, and collaboration. It consists of six classes, including three foundation courses and a capstone course.

Business of Design (BoD)

An experiential program that enables students to simultaneously learn the theory and practice of both business and design. Final projects are developed and presented as new business ventures at an annual innovation showcase.

Change Lab

A collaboration between SFU’s Beedie School of Business and Faculty of Environment, Change Lab is an immersive one-term cohort program, delivered in a non-traditional and highly experiential format, one that empowers student changemakers.

Technology Entrepreneurship@SFU

The tech e@sfu program brings together SFU’s third and fourth year mechatronics, business and entrepreneurship students to develop a market-inspired and solution-driven technological product, along with the funding pitch to take it from benchtop to market.

The Grenoble Program (France)

This SFU partnership with Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), one of the world’s leading business schools for technology and innovation, provides students with the opportunity to study with visiting scholars in a joint semester focused on social entrepreneurship.

Change Lab Ecuador

Sustainability and global social entrepreneurship lie at the heart of this program. Students learn entrepreneurship and introductory Spanish at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador and participate in a social enterprise incubator.

i2I Invention to Innovation

The 12-month, part-time graduate certificate in science and technology commercialization provides research scientists and engineers with the theory and skills to commercialize their inventions and contribute to new product development and commercialization in industry.
