COLLEEN COLLINS, PhD (Alberta)
Associate Dean
An Associate Professor of Marketing and Associate Dean, Dr. Colleen Collins is interested in how customers and firms make product decisions – especially for new products and technology. Her research examines the influence of brand names and entrepreneurial marketing efforts on high tech product purchases and exporting decisions.
MARK MOORE, PhD (Columbia)
Senior Lecturer, Strategy
Dr. Moore's has conducted research on monetary policy, international portfolios, direct investment flows and options pricing methods for the Bank of Canada. His current research is on further analysis of the softwood lumber dispute, and he is also investigating the consequences of privatizing the Canadian National Railway.
CAROLYN EGRI, PhD (British Columbia)
Professor, Management and Organization Studies
Dr. Egri is a pioneer in research related to corporate environmental and social responsibility. A TD Canada Trust Distinguished Teaching Award recipient, she makes leadership and environmental sustainability the focus of her teaching. She examines corporate environmental social responsibility practices and cross-cultural differences in managerial values and influence tactics around the world. Dr. Egri teaches Leadership in the Executive MBA program.
DAVID HANNAH, PhD (Texas)
Assistant Professor, Management and Organization Studies
Dr. Hannah’s research focuses on employee behaviour and leadership that goes against organizational rules and policies. He has published in numerous books and journals and was the recipient of the 2005 TD Canada Trust Distinguished Teaching Award. Dr. Hannah teaches Negotiation in the Executive MBA program.
MICHAEL PARENT, PhD (Queen's)
Associate Professor, Management Information Systems
Dr. Parent comes to academia following more than 10 years in the high technology industry. An award-winning teacher, he has also received several grant awards including a three-year Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Initiative on the New Economy grant to examine the process firms use to make decisions about adopting technology infrastructure. He teaches Information Technology.
LEYLAND PITT, PhD (Pretoria)
Professor, Marketing
An internationally renowned marketing expert, Dr. Leyland Pitt has extensive international teaching credentials, is regularly cited in scholarly journals and marketing textbooks, and in 2002, the Academy of Marketing Science named him “Outstanding Marketing Teacher.” Dr. Pitt teaches Marketing in the Executive MBA program.
BLAIZE REICH, PhD (British Columbia)
Professor, Management Information Systems and RBC Professor, Technology and Innovation
Dr. Reich currently holds a prestigious Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) grant to investigate how knowledge management theory might improve IT project success. Dr. Reich teaches Information Technology in the Executive MBA program.
DAVID C. THOMAS, PhD (S. Carolina)
Professor, International Management
Dr. Thomas is the author of seven books and numerous journal articles on cross-cultural interactions in organizational settings. He is currently the Associate Editor of the
Journal of Cross-Cultural Management and serves on the editorial boards of the
Journal of World Business, and the
Journal of Management. He teaches International Business.
MARK WEXLER, PhD (York)
Professor, Business Ethics/ Management and Organization Studies/Policy Analysis
Dr. Wexler is President of the Perimeter Group of Consultants and Trainers. His work appears in over 110 refereed journals and he is the author of eight books. He has been awarded four teaching awards, numerous grants and research funds and was selected as PricewaterhouseCooper’s 2004 “Leader in Management Education.” Dr. Wexler teaches Ethics, and Organizational Theory, in the Executive MBA program.
JAN SIMON, PhD (Essex)
Visiting Professor
An Associate Professor at IESE and a visiting Professor at SFU Beedie, Dr. Simon received his PhD in Finance from the University of Essex. He also completed his MBA at the IESE Business School from the University of Navarra and his Master of Law from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
ANDREW VON NORDENFLYCHT, PhD (MIT)
Associate Professor
With a BA in history and six years of work experience as a software product manager and management consultant, Dr. Andrew von Nordenflycht brings an interesting perspective to his teaching and research in the field of corporate governance. He joined the Beedie School of Business at SFU in 2004 after earning his PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
