How The GDBA Works?
The GDBA program is delivered entirely online using a learning management system called WebCT. After an initial face-to-face orientation at the beginning of the first semester to become familiar with the program, resources and online environment, students will interact with the instructor and other students in online conferences. Course modules are supplemented by multi-media learning objects, print material, online conferencing and shared discussion boards. Students download assignments and upload their papers. In virtual seminars, you have time to think about your comments to the class, and interact with other students and the instructor online rather than face-to-face. Study when it suits your schedule, wherever you happen to be. You’ll have a direct link to GDBA instructors, wherever you are.
Supportive learning in an online environment
Like other Beedie School of Business graduate programs, the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration is a team-based learning experience. Even though you’re working online, you’re part of a small group learning together, generally no more than 25 students. The program emphasizes collaboration, so you’ll frequently work in smaller teams in an online environment. You will join a supportive network of students, staff and faculty, many of whom will remain life-long friends and business associates.
Length
With a full course load of eight credits per semester, the program is designed to be completed in three semesters (one year). With the permission of the Academic Chair, some students may complete the program in two semesters; others may take more than three semesters to complete.
