AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education. It has been earned by less than five percent of the world’s business programs, including Harvard Business School, Yale School of Management and London Business School.

The Beedie School of Business also holds EQUIS accreditation, placing it among less than one percent of business schools worldwide that hold dual EQUIS and AACSB accreditation.

In awarding continuing accreditation, the AACSB board commended the Beedie School of Business for the flexible and cross-disciplinary nature of its undergraduate program, along with the experiential learning and international opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

“Maintaining our AACSB accreditation reflects the Beedie School of Business’ position as one of the leading business schools not only in Canada, but across the globe,” says Ali Dastmalchian, dean of the Beedie School of Business. “This reaffirms the School’s reputation as a leader in teaching and learning, with world-class faculty producing leading-edge research, and a continued engagement with local and international communities.”

Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

The endorsement from AACSB follows another impressive year for the Beedie School of Business. In 2015 the School launched the Graduate Certificate in Science and Technology Commercialization, a new Executive MBA in Northwestern BC, and is spearheading a new interdisciplinary Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”
