Biography

Dr. Boyd Cohen joined SFU Business in July 2006 as an assistant professor charged with establishing a new technology entrepreneurship program for SFU Surrey's undergraduate business program. He is also affiliated with SFU's Centre for Sustainable Community Development. Boyd previously taught sustainable entrepreneurship at the University of Victoria, the
Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain and at INCAE in Central America, where he teaches for one month each year.

Boyd's research focuses on how entrepreneurs can contribute to an environmentally sustainable world. A LEED-accredited professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), Boyd consulted to Canada's first LEED neighbourhood greenfield project in Langford on Vancouver Island. He is also an entrepreneur who has started several companies focused on the green building industry. He is currently President of a sustainable software company, Real Living Solutions, based in Vancouver.

During his spare time, Boyd enjoys outdoor activities like mountain biking and snowboarding.
