Biography

Payman Jula is an Associate Professor at Beedie School of Business, SFU where he teaches courses related to operations management, and decision making under uncertainty. Payman has a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from University of California at Berkeley. His research interests are in transportation and logistics, and applications of operations management in the manufacturing and service (particularly healthcare delivery) industries. Payman has studied the economics of Asia - North America supply chains. He has worked with many international high tech companies, including Samsung Semiconductor, Cypress Semiconductor, Micron Technology, and IMFlash Technologies on issues related to cycle time reduction, production planning, scheduling and supply chain management.

Payman enjoys Vancouver ski hills in winter and soccer fields in summer.
