Biography

Payman Jula joined the Beedie School of Business from the University of Alberta where he won a best visiting professor award from the Business Student Association for his courses on decision analysis, supply chain management, and quantitative management. Payman holds three master's degrees related to industrial and electrical engineering as well as a PhD in industrial engineering and operations research from the University of California at Berkley. He is interested in operations management in both the manufacturing and service industries. He has worked with many international high tech companies, including Samsung Semiconductor, Cypress Semiconductor Inc. and Micron Technology, on issues related to cycle time reduction, production planning, scheduling and supply chain management.

Payman says he joined the Beedie School of Business because of the collegial faculty and the opportunity in Vancouver to pursue his interest in outdoor activities, which include soccer and swimming.
