Bursaries & Work-Study

Bursaries and work-study placements are awarded based on demonstrated financial need. A bursary is like a grant -- it's an award that you do not have to repay.

More information about bursaries can be found here.  To identify bursaries that you are eligible for, browse the searchable Awards Database.

  • To apply for bursaries, just download and complete the Application for Student Financial Assistance available through goSFU and submit to SFU Financial Assistance
  • Students must have a minimum CGPA of 2.00 to be eligible for bursaries
  • Students must be enrolled in at least 9 credits
  • Students must have a demonstrated financial need
  • Full application details for SFU Open Bursaries and private bursaries are available from SFU Financial Assistance

The SFU Work-Study program provides part time on-campus jobs for full time undergraduate students during the fall, spring and summer semesters. The purpose is to provide financial assistance and a career-related employment experience to students in high financial need.
