After three years of planning and reconstruction, SFU's third heritage restoration project in downtown Vancouver, the new Segal Graduate School of Business, is complete.

This marks an exciting expansion of SFU's downtown campus, with a new school that uniquely focuses on graduate business education and research right in the heart of Vancouver, Canada's most livable city and North America's major gateway to Asia.

Downtown Education

Each year, over 60,000 people attend credit and non-credit classes at SFU's downtown campus.

For Don Rix, well-known Vancouver philanthropist and chair of the Segal fundraising council, being involved in the campaign gave him an opportunity to engage in something he cares deeply about: downtown education.

Heritage Meets Innovation

This remarkable 1916 temple bank building has been sensitively restored to its former elegance under acclaimed architect Paul Merrick. Its amenities, however, are strictly modern. Fibre optic cabling, coupled with a hybrid telecommunications system that mixes conventional and new Internet technologies, ensure high speed communications with not only SFU campuses but also partner universities and distance education students.

Supporting the Segal Campaign

Contributions to the Segal Graduate School of Business campaign not only play an important role in restoring a piece of Vancouver's architectural history, they also help to establish progressive research centres and programs. Donations also ensure scholarships and bursaries are available to bright students pursuing graduate business education.
