[External] Global Alliance for Banking on Values Summit 2019

Deadline: Sun January 13, 2019

Jan 08, 2019

Vancity is hosting the Global Alliance for Banking on Values Summit 2019—Migrants, #MeToo, and Melting Icecaps… Redefining Banking for a Radically Different Future—in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the GABV, February 19-20 at the Vancouver Convention Centre (West).

The GABV is an independent, global network of banking institutions that use finance to deliver sustainable economic, social, and environmental development. At this global gathering of bankers, regulators, policymakers, academics, social entrepreneurs, civic actors, and youth, we will co-create pathways of change in banking to meet the global challenges of the future, all to answer the question: how can we put banking in service of people and the planet, while making the financial sector itself a resilient partner of society?

Participants will:

  • Receive an all-access GABV Summit pass (valued at $795 CAD)
  • Attend two curated pre-Summit sessions to get a behind-the-scenes meet-and-greet with CEOs, speakers, and other Summit VIPS, meet the other Young Leaders, and gain context about the Summit
  • Participate in a post-Summit Learning Journey
  • Receive transportation and meal cost coverage, as well as a $100 honorarium. Accommodation will be provided for Young Leaders from outside of Metro Vancouver

Applications are due January 13th, 2019 @ 11:59pm PST and can be found at: Young Leaders Delegation.

*Delegates are not required to have academic or work experience in finance. It is strongly encouraged that students from diverse backgrounds apply. The only criteria is that you are under 30 and curious about the role banking plays in social, environmental, and/or economic justice!
