Short-Term Exchanges (Summer)

Spend your summer abroad studying at one or more of our partner schools! Summer study abroad programs are a great way to experience something different from traditional exchange experiences. Summer study abroad programs:

  • Are usually shorter than a full semester, typically lasting 4-6 weeks
  • Combine academic coursework with cultural and local experiences
  • Average programs are under 10 units
  • Credits transfer back to SFU

Africa

Morocco - EMLYON Business School

Program: Casablanca Summer Session

About: In this program you will examine the fascinating spectrum of cultures and business practices in Africa and to understand how entrepreneurial skills give innovative responses to social problems and stimulate economic activity.

1st Session: early May – early June
2nd Session: late June – late July

Asia

China – Fudan University School of Management (FDSM)

Program: Fudan University School of Management Summer School

About: This program is for students interested in business in China. Taking place Shanghai, you will gain professional skills through company trips, immerse yourself in a project-based study and build connections with peers and experts in the field. The FSDM Summer Program includes unique Design Thinking experience to advance your business strategies and learning in innovation-driven solutions.

China - Hong Kong - Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)

Program: CUHK International Summer School

Hong Kong – City University of Hong Kong

Program:Summer Exchange Program

About:The City University of Hong Kong has specially arranged an Overseas Internship Scheme in order to give students an opportunity to experience scientific research related to their studies. Apart from research experience, outside classroom workshop including cultural activities and industrial visit to give participants a brief understanding of industrial establishments in Hong Kong as well as have a taste of Chinese culture.

Program: International Summer Campus

About: Korea University International Summer Campus (KU ISC) provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about Korea through academic and cultural immersion during the summer months. Korean University opens its door to a truly global student body by offering the ISC program to both international and Korean students.

Austria - Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration

Program: International Summer University WU

About: The ISUwu is an intensive short program over the course of three weeks. A team of expirienced WU and international lecturers will offer a large variety of business-related courses in English. Together with fellow students from other countries you will be able to widen your cultural horizons with the social program, where you'll have company visits, field trips and many more social activities around Vienna. Have the pleasure to experience Vienna, a city rich in history and culture and study at the largest university of economics and business in Europe.

Denmark – Aarhus University

Program:AU Summer University

About:Aarhus University launched their extended summer programme “AU Summer University” in 2011 and consists of a portfolio of courses taught in English, Business and Economics, Science and Technology, and more. All teaching at AU Summer University is based on current research and has a strong international perspective. Along with the academic programme, the university also offer accommodation services, visa services and a social programme for both lecturers and students.

Term 1: July 2nd – July 19th
Term 2: July 22nd – August 9th

Finland - Aalto University School of Business

Program: Summer Studies at the Mikkeli Campus

About: A unit of the School of Business operates in Mikkeli, where the Bachelor´s Program in International Business is offered entirely in English in an international environment. Mikkeli is located 230 km from Helsinki and is the largest lake district in Europe. The courses, 6 ECTS each are lectured in 3-week modules all around the year – also during the summer months.

Spain – University of Navarra

Program:International Summer Program

About:The School of Economics and Business Administration within the University of Navarra provide students with a strong international dimension. They are the first institution in Spain to offer an international (bilingual) degree program in the field of Business and Economics. Navarra is also worth a long stay as it is a tranquil place that offers the visitor an interesting view of cultural heritage and a wide variety of landscapes. It is a land of deep-rooted traditions and unique fiestas that reflect the friendly, extroverted character of its people.
