Join us for a panel session presented by HSBC Bank Canada C-suite Executives to learn about their experience on leading teams during a crisis. This session will feature a Q&A on key career topics, including:
- How to make decisions when faced with uncertainty and ambiguity
- Communicating effectively with your team
- Keeping your team focused
- Managing through difficult business decisions
- Maintaining a healthy human system in your team and yourself

Caroline Tose, Chief Operating Officer
Caroline started her career with HSBC in Commercial Banking over 15 years ago, and has since worked in Payments and Cash Management, Trade Finance and Operations. Previous to joining HSBC she worked in the retail banking sector in the UK. Caroline has a unique perspective on banking, having held local, regional and global roles, as well leading major transformation programs and strategic planning initiatives. As a leader, Caroline believes supporting career development is extremely important, promoting the need to break down barriers and create dialogue with colleagues. She feels strongly about HSBC's commitment to diversity and inclusion, and helping employees to make the most of the opportunities available in the organization.
Michael Artley, Chief Information Officer
Michael is responsible for the delivery and provision of all technology services to HSBC Canada, including software applications, telecommunication services, infrastructure and hardware. This covers all business lines and functions in all locations across Canada. With over 30 years of commercial IT experience he is a seasoned technology professional, with a broad range of skills, and a proven track record of delivery in both international and domestic capacities realising meaningful business results.
Vivian Ormerod, Finance Chief Operating Officer
Vivian Ormerod leads a team of Finance professionals responsible for all aspects of organization effectiveness and transformation, financial systems, change delivery as well as controls and corporate governance for the department. Vivian has over 30 years of experience in the Financial Industry, of which 12 years were with the Standard Bank of South Africa and 6 years with Intesa Bank Canada in Toronto. Vivian has served in a variety of senior finance positions within HBCA and was a 2006 President's Award recipient. Vivian has a zeal for leading transformation as well as steering the people strategy of organizations that she works. Vivian was Chair of the HSBC Balance Network BC Chapter in Canada and trained as a facilitator by The Humphreys Group to deliver "Succeeding on Stage" to HBCA employees.
Abi Coman-Walker, Wealth & Personal Banking Chief Operating Officer
Focused leader, recognized for delivering superior results with extensive global experience in emerging and developed markets and a proven track record for delivery in innovation and operational management in complex businesses. Joined HSBC Canada's retail bank as COO in Nov 2018 after 15 years working across the globe with HSBC Group in a number of roles including Global Head of Business Financial Crime Risk, Retail and Wealth, Insurance COO for the Middle East and Head of Cost Governance in Brazil. Passionate advocate for Diversity and Inclusion, having held a number of internal and external roles to promote gender equality, mentorship, refugee support and the local community.
