Lauren is currently a full-time MBA student at the Beedie School of Business. Having completed her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree from Queen’s University, she worked as a production engineer for an oil and gas company, spending lots of time in northern British Columbia and Alberta. She hopes to use her Beedie education to develop her career and transition into a new industry.
Bhupinder is a full-time MSc Finance candidate at the Beedie School of Business. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from University of Delhi and has qualified as a CA professional from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 2004. Thereafter, having gained 13 years of valuable experience in banking and finance sector, he has developed significant knowledge in understanding various business models and client’s expectations, offering solutions that fulfill the requirement of an individual and organisation in most economical and efficient manner.
He is focused and determined to expand his financial and management knowledge, skills, and expertise through MSc Finance that will help to assess issues at macro economic level. As a GBSA executive, he is passionate and motivated to be the voice of students at Beedie in promoting initiatives and networking opportunities.
Saumya is currently a full-time MBA candidate at the Beedie School of Business. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, she went on to possess an MA in Journalism and Mass Communication as well as a post graduate certificate specializing in film making. She has worked in the fields of journalism, content writing, digital content management, and television production before taking a year off to train underprivileged students as part of volunteer work an NGO in India that provides vocational training for the underprivileged.
Through her role as VP Communications, Saumya hopes to apply her passion for media and communications not only towards her basic responsibilities of taking minutes for all GBSA meetings and maintaining the GBSA website, but also towards the promotion of Beedie values and student activities. She hopes to help create a memorable experience for all cohorts through fun events, providing enough learning as well as networking opportunities.
Sharon Low is a Full-Time MBA student at the SFU Beedie School of Business. She is experienced in investment banking and corporate banking. Her career experience includes three years as a Corporate Relationship Manager and two years as an Investment banker covering Korea, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China markets. Notably, it is working in such an international environment that allows her to understand diverse political and cultural worldviews in dealing with different people.
In addition to GBSA, Sharon is actively involved in the Segal case club. As VP engagement of GBSA, she recognises the importance to secure networking events for students at Beedie as it leads to meeting more people, more business and career opportunities. She will ensure events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating and coming up with fun filled events to connect the business graduate cohort.
Full-time MBA Class Representative
Danny Bartanus is a full-time MBA student at the Beedie School of Business. Danny studied Marketing Management and Business Administration as an undergraduate and until moving to back to Vancouver, has been based in Kamloops working as a Field Sales Manager for a leading distributor in the professional beauty industry. He has also worked internationally as both a White-Water Rafting Guide and Hockey Referee, so he is looking forward to bringing his people oriented skills to his role in representing his cohort.
He is focused and determined to expand his management knowledge, skills and expertise through his MBA journey and is looking forward to challenging and rewarding opportunities upon graduation. Outside of his professional interests, Danny is passionate about travelling, fantasy football and spending time outdoors with his wife, daughter and chocolate lab.
MOT MBA Class Representative (First Year)
Dexter is part of the first year part-time MOT MBA cohort of 2017 at the SFU Beedie School of Business. He’s been engaged in Enterprise Resource Planning software for over 10 years and has extensive experience in the support, development, and deployment of vast intra-organizational IT systems for a lot of medium to large scale businesses in Canada, the US, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Dexter obtained his B.Sc. in Computing Science specializing in Information Technology from the De Lasalle University in Manila, and also obtained a Diploma of Technology in Operations Management from BCIT. His experience, education, and knowledge from both disciplines enables a synergy that is well suited in today’s business environment. Dexter is extremely proud and grateful to be able to represent his cohort.
MOT MBA Class Representative (Second Year)
Ingrid is a current part-time Management of Technology MBA student at the SFU Beedie School of Business. With her background as a Software Developer currently working within the IT Services Department at Simon Fraser University, she has the opportunity to solve problems and create solutions on a daily basis.
Ingrid has obtained her B.Sc. in Computing Science from the University of Victoria in 2007 and has continued to involve technology in all aspects of her life. She is extremely excited to have the opportunity to represent her cohort within the SFU community.

Part-time MBA Class Representative (2018)
Siya is an SFU alumni. Having received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, she is now a
MBA candidate in our part-time program at the Beedie School of Business. She has been in the
retail industry for more than 6 years, with a focus on digital and brand. She currently works at
Lululemon Athletica in Vancouver, BC and manages its Voice of Guest program. In her spare
time, Siya enjoys hiking local trails, reading, having a glass of bubbly, and working out.
As a member of the GBSA committee, she’s passionate about sharing feedback and creating
memorable experiences for students through networking and event opportunities.
Troy Sinclair is a part time MBA candidate at the Beedie School of Business. Troy is currently the Director of Finance for Pacific Academy, one of British Columbia’s top tier independent schools. His position is in charge of all financial stewardship, risk management, budgeting and reporting for the school as well as overseeing all finance and accounting staff. Troy completed his CPA Designation 6 years ago and is an active student mentor for CPA BC.
Over the last 10 years, Troy has gained senior level career experience in applied Finance and Management. Troy has a BBA Degree from Capilano University and now sits on the Accounting and Finance Advisory Committee at Capilano University. Troy finds great satisfaction working with numbers, but loves to connect with people at work and within groups, especially when the outcome is developing people and results. He believes in paying forward from his own experiences, investing in people and enhancing quality of life. When he is not busy at work, he loves spending time with his family, working out and creating masterpieces in the kitchen.
Executive MBA Class Representative
Kris graduated from BCIT with a B.B.A and is currently working with Wurth Canada as a key account maniager and sales consultant. In his current role, he proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis. Forecasting and tracking key account metrics, he designs calculated and strategic account planning that maximizes both customer satisfaction and return on investment. His consistent performance has placed him in the top 2% of 445 sales employees in Canada in every tracked category and KPI.
Kris strongly believes that success lies in the customer’s utmost satisfaction, and hence hopes to bring the same mindset to the GBSA team, regarding student representation.
