Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?
Working in a regional tech company made me realize the value of diversity, and I desired to work in a global team building solutions that impact the lives of people worldwide. To achieve this, I needed to sharpen my problem-solving skills, hone cross-cultural dexterity, and become a leader; pursuing an international MBA meant just that.
I chose Beedie thanks to its engaging curriculum, strong alumni network, and a compact yet diverse cohort. The International Applied Project and Leadership Retreat are some of the engagements that I eagerly anticipate.
What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?
The SFU Beedie Amazing Walk was a fantastic kickoff to the journey, filled with adventure and excitement at every corner. However, the reason it stands out as my most memorable experience so far is that it made me realize I was part of a very welcoming, engaging, and phenomenal cohort—a second family, I would go out on a limb to say.
I am looking forward to the Leadership Retreat in Squamish, where we will embark on an expedition amidst the myriad trails and treks in the wilderness for the adventure of a lifetime.
How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?
Beedie’s culture is one of openness, inclusivity, and camaraderie. From my first interactions with the admissions team to the student ambassadors, professors, and, of course, the cohort, there has never been a moment where I felt I was not a part of the community. The collective ambition we all share to make a positive impact in the world, and the openness to all experiences and perspectives, draws no parallels to the experiences I have had before.
