Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

My decision to pursue an MBA was driven by a heightened awareness of the vital role management techniques play in enhancing performance across diverse roles. Recognizing the transformative potential of advanced skills like Business Analytics, Financial Management, and workplace ethics, I chose to shift from industry to academia. This transition from employee to student represented a strategic move to enrich my expertise.

The SFU Beedie School of Business emerged as the ideal platform for this transformation. It wasn't just the school's stellar reputation that attracted me; it was the deliberate focus on maintaining a small, diverse cohort, ensuring personalized learning experiences. The prospect of learning from acclaimed professors and the school's commitment to a practice-oriented curriculum convinced me that Beedie was where my academic and professional journey would soar to new heights, aligning perfectly with my career aspiration.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

Immersing myself in the vibrant class of cultures and intellects at Beedie has been a transformative experience. SFU's mastery in leveraging a heterogeneous cohort has enriched my educational journey in unexpected ways. Engaging with peers from different backgrounds has not only broadened my perspective but has also deepened my understanding of global business dynamics. The school's case-based pedagogical approach has been particularly enlightening, offering a pragmatic window into the complexities of real-world business challenges. This hands-on experience is invaluable, equipping us with the tools to navigate and solve pressing industry problems.

Looking ahead, I'm eager to weave my thread into the expansive fabric of SFU’s alumni network. I anticipate that the multitude of networking events and the community's camaraderie will be pivotal in forging lasting professional relationships. This ethos of inclusivity has been a pivotal factor in my decision to pursue my academic journey at the Beedie School of Business.
