Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

The major factors that drew me towards SFU’s MBA program are, its comprehensive business curriculum, dual accreditation and outside the classroom opportunities (clubs/councils). But what impressed me the most about Beedie was the energy the recruitment team brings in to make you feel inclusive and part of an empowering community. The quick and smooth support they provide to students is also what I was impressed with, and which is why I decided to be part of SFU.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

My most favorite thing about SFU has been that there are multiple extra-curricular opportunities available for students. Participating in the BC MBA Games 2022 and representing our school was an experience that gave us exposure outside of school and connected us with MBA students from other schools.

Additionally SFU gives me a platform to support my long-term commitment in promoting equality for women in the workforce through my role as President of the Graduate Women's Council.

All these extracurricular activities eventually help students build a comprehensive profile by the time we will graduate.

How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?

SFU’s culture is built on an on-going learning and adaptive experience. It is one where personality development takes place throughout your time that you spent with the school. More than that is a community that provides everyone with a safe space to explore and be themselves. Uprooting my life, traveling across oceans and trying to settle in a new place hasn’t been as challenging as I thought it would have been and that is because of the support of the faculty and new friends that I have met along the way - this is what defines SFU Beedie’s culture.
