Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

At this juncture of my life, having had exposure to a broad spectrum of skills, I was strongly impelled to pursue an MBA to take my career to the next level. I was keen to expand my knowledge and learn high-end skills from world-renowned instructors while interacting with the top students around the world. An MBA degree would foster my growth and help me to hone and learn skills to take up top management roles post MBA. MBA from Simon Fraser University was always a dream so that I am able to gain expertise from the cutting-edge curriculum which will aid me in achieving my objectives. The tagline of Beedie- “Lead, Innovate, collaborate” are the three aspects that differentiates any leader and Beedie promotes and builds on these three aspects.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

The experience at BC MBA Games 2022 has been the most amazing three days. I am enchanted that SFU Beedie takes part in MBA Games as it helps us learn, develop and grow during the program. The team practices, discussions, and strategies helped me cultivate a sense of working in diverse settings, cultures, and experiences. Also, the enthusiasm I experienced and the people I met at the MBA games were tremendously talented; it motivates me to hone my skills in a better way. The MBA Games have thoroughly helped me know how different skills can be presented and collaboratively worked upon in a competitive environment. I am looking forward to a year full of challenges and diverse fields to focus on as this will train me to face the globalized corporate culture with ease and experience.

How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?

SFU Beedie promotes a multi-cultural environment and gives space to all ethnicities. it can be clearly known that it promotes a no discrimination and well diverse environment because of the inclusion of two Clubs – JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) Council and Graduate Women’s Council, both of which focus on inclusion and respect for all individuals. Professionalism along with keeping the fun side awake, the staff at Beedie encourages each student in all possible aspects. The enthusiasm and zeal that was felt within all the Beedie Grad cohorts within the first 4 days of orientation completely describes a family atmosphere where everyone's perspective is valued.
