Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

I decided to pursue an MBA to grow my impact in and ultimately lead my family’s clothing business. The fashion industry is often synonymous with wasteful business models. I strive not only to participate in, but to actively innovate and lead a circular economy in the future of fashion. I knew the immersive Beedie MBA program would help me develop my skills and form invaluable connections to make this happen.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

My favourite experiences at Beedie have been our networking events. I met with Beedie’s Career Management Centre and told them about all the local clothing companies that have inspired me over the years. I was blown away when they set up a specific networking event with representatives from almost all the brands I had mentioned. I’m so grateful for the doors that Beedie has opened for me, and I’m looking forward to discovering what’s next in store!

How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?

I absolutely love our cohort. I’ve never met a group of such inspirational, diverse, and brilliant individuals. I will admit, for a long time I doubted whether business school was the right path for me – I was scared I wouldn’t feel like I belonged. But I am so grateful to have been proven wrong. Everyone including our professors and mentors have been so supportive and welcoming.
