Why did you decide to pursue a Master of Science in Finance and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

As a working professional working at the largest Bank in Mexico, I noticed how fast risk management was changing, and I realized that to be a leader in these future trends, I had to go to school again and reskill myself. At SFU Beedie School of Business, I found an excellent school with a world-class faculty, a transformative learning experience, and the opportunity to be part of a cohort with people from all over the world.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

My favorite experience at Beedie is meeting people (students, teachers, faculty, and staff) from different backgrounds and experiences. This experience enriches the learning experience and allows me to develop a different perspective with a global approach that is more emphatic, engaged, and has the potential to be a leader that generates a positive impact.

How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?

Passionate is the word that describes the culture; Beedie's community welcomes everyone; it is a diverse, inclusive, and engaging environment. Here, I have found individuals with outstanding technical abilities and, at the same time, an even better quality as a person.
