Why did you decide to pursue a Master of Science in Finance and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?
I wanted to pivot my career towards an asset management or investment banking-oriented role and I figured I need more academic grounding in finance to pursue that. The biggest factor in choosing SFU Beedie was the SIAS fund since it'll provide an opportunity to experiment in the real world with what is being taught in the classroom. Apart from SIAS, the option to specialize in investment management and the quantitative focus of the program were really important factors for me.
What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?
The best experience so far has been studying alongside such a diverse cohort of people who come from all over the globe and from very different academic and professional backgrounds. There's an enormous opportunity to learn from such a diverse set of experiences.
How would you describe SFU Beedie's culture?
I would describe SFU Beedie’s culture as very collaborative. Everyone from the faculty and staff is super helpful and is always trying to help with all types of issues one may face. The faculty has also gone an extra mile to ensure that the difference in professional experience levels in the cohort does not become a hindrance for anyone. At the same time, the culture is very fast paced and always keeps you on your toes so you are ready for the challenges of professional life.
