Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

I have been working as a Product Specialist for a world-renowned banking institution for 2 years before I decided to upgrade my leadership skills. An accredited MBA program will certainly help me reach that goal. Upon completing my research, SFU Beedie School of Business appeared to be a gem. The school’s MBA program is highly ranked among others with the excellent academic quality delivered by a qualified group of professional faculty and dedicated staff. Compared to other schools, I am convinced that SFU takes serious care of their students’ success and provides us with all the necessary tools as well as support to further our studies.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

I landed in Vancouver a bit late due to the unexpected delay in my visa application. Nevertheless, the school allowed me to join the class virtually and my professors offered the same assistance to all online students as other in-person ones. The transition from online to in-person learning was a smooth process as well since all of my classmates are understanding and friendly. I am really looking forward to the whole 16-month-program at Beedie and all the opportunities to better connect with other candidates and learn more from my instructors.

How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?

SFU Beedie is truly a family for all MBA candidates. We are here not only to learn but to also grow our connections and network. It is more than what you can ever receive from an MBA program. More importantly, the SFU Beedie’s program is well-tailored and perfectly designed for students to reach their full potential. The professors are encouraging and have clear expectations from their students. I love it when they incorporate a lot of real-life cases for us to discuss. Moreover, the MBA program takes place in the heart of Vancouver downtown, which gives a vibe of an urban business life where all future leaders and managers seek to grow.
