Why did you decide to pursue a Master of Science in Finance and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

As an undergrad student, I was always eager to work and put the theory I was learning to use. I could do that in a few instances, giving me the perspective needed to the point that lack of further knowledge was the bottleneck for me. I chose SFU as it had one of the most technical finance programs while building the theoretical backbone required in the industry. Furthermore, this program provides students a hands-on experience in financial markets through the renowned SIAS course.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

Taking steps into SFU Segal for the first time was an exhilarating moment for me. Needless to say, studying in a building that was an actual financial institution helped a lot with the atmosphere and the excitement. I look forward to participating in upcoming Segal events and building my network alongside extraordinary people.

How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?

The open, diverse, and inclusive culture at SFU can be seen at any level; The team at SFU did an outstanding job of making students comfortable throughout the welcoming journey. These efforts formed a cordial and courteous community. I believe the attitude of SFU Beedie's team demonstrates a benchmark for everyone in the realm of business and academia, encouraging students to participate and follow this attitude long after graduation.
