Why did you decide to pursue a Master of Science in Finance and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?
I believed that a Master of Science in Finance degree would add on to my knowledge, sharpen my skills and could be a stepping stone to a prosperous career path. Thus, I choose SFU Beedie since the syllabus focused on core finance concepts along with the programming skills necessary for every finance professional in today’s world. Another main highlight of the program is working with the Student Investment Advisory Service (SIAS) which would help me put the latest academic thinking into practice. Such an experience is unparalleled and I look forward to collaborating with some of the best quantitative minds in finance.
What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?
My favourite experience in Beedie so far has been visiting the campus, getting to know the faculty and meeting my fellow peers in the beautiful city of Vancouver. The pandemic paved a very tough year for all of us, but getting into the classroom and learning together as a class has been amazing. The sessions hosted by CMC and meetings with the career counsellor were very helpful for networking and finding out more about my career path. Having enjoyed the classroom experience so far, I look forward to working with the SIAS team and participating in case competitions.
