Why did you decide to pursue a Master of Science in Finance and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

After gaining two years of experience in the finance industry, I discovered my deep passion for finance, specifically in the realm of investments. Having primarily worked in a back-office role, I am now eager to transition into the front office, where I can actively engage in research and investment activities. The MSc Finance program captures my interest as it not only provides fundamental knowledge in finance but also offers practical skills and valuable mentorship. The opportunity to oversee the management of the SIAS fund further appeals to me, as it presents an avenue to gain hands-on experience in real-life investment scenarios.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

I am thrilled about the wealth of knowledge I have acquired so far, especially about programming languages. The opportunity to interact with individuals from diverse countries and academic backgrounds has been truly enriching. I eagerly anticipate further engagement in case competitions, as they provide an excellent platform for honing my skills. The opportunity to manage the SIAS fund is an exciting prospect, offering practical experience in investment management. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about the networking opportunities that lie ahead, as they hold the potential to open doors to exciting career prospects.

SFU Beedie’s culture is supportive and open, it fosters an environment of collaboration, innovation and personal growth.
