Biography

Amirhossein (Amir) Torkzad is a Ph.D. student at the Beedie School of Business, specializing in quantitative marketing. Before joining SFU, Amir got an MBA from the Sharif University of Technology in Iran and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the same institution. With three years of professional experience in the ride-sharing and transportation mobility industry, he has cultivated a deep interest in multi-sided platforms, which he has extended to his research endeavors. For his master's thesis, he examined the strategic behavior of passengers in ride-hailing platforms. Amir's other research interests include consumer durables, social media, and microeconometrics.
