Gurwinder has a B.E., Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Technical University and moved to Canada in 1998 to attend the University of Saskatchewan to do research and postgraduate engineering courses. He joined major forestry company Weyerhaeuser in 2002 as a Project Manager in Kamloops, later advancing to become a Program Manager and leading the R&D tax credit program, a role that involved collaborating with project engineers, managers, innovators and cross-functional teams of 30 operations nationally.
During this time, he completed his EMBA from Beedie in 2009 before returning to India to set up an NGO that helps underprivileged children obtain quality education, which continues today; helping over 250 children a year.
Gurwinder is returning with his young family Canada and he is eager to bring his passion and experience back to the Beedie School of Business in his new role.
