Biography

The Undergraduate Program of the Beedie School of Business enacts SFU’s vision to be Canada’s leading engaged university.  With a strategic focus on social responsibility, innovation, and global perspectives, the Undergraduate Program’s initiatives include curricular and co-curricular experiences that support our students in becoming leaders who make a difference in our ever-changing world, starting now.

As Executive Director of Undergraduate Programs, Marissa leads the development and implementation of an integrated student success and engagement framework across the program by developing innovative curricular and co-curricular experiences that serve the needs of a diverse and dynamic student body. This includes a strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan to align enrollment-related policies, practices and standards with the academic vision and mission of the School, as well as the alignment of recruitment, admission, and transition services with activities and initiatives that drive the personal, professional, and educational development and retention of our students. She takes both an administrative and student affairs perspective to ensure a holistic student experience.

Marissa has worked in post-secondary for almost 20 years, with over 17 years of experience in student affairs and services, including Strategic Enrollment Management, Admissions, Academic Advising, Recruitment, Curriculum and Student Development and Engagement. She has an MEd with a focus on Post-Secondary Leadership, a BA in English, and Certificate in Liberal Arts from Simon Fraser University.
