Dr. Matta's research concentration is the economics of information systems. His research explores the adoption and impact of information technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, blockchain, metaverse and the Internet of Things (IoT) on business strategy, innovation, and productivity. Dr. Matta is passionate about investigating the corporate, digital and data governance practices that can enable organizations to create and capture value from these technological investments more effectively. His research interests are shaped by the expereince he gained working as a business-technology consultant, implementing data management and analytics solutions for organizations in the healthcare sector. His research has appeared in premier academic journals (Financial Times Top 50 Journals - FT50; University of Texas Dallas Top 24 Journals - UTD24) including Information Systems Research (ISR), MIS Quarterly (MISQ), Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM) and Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS).
