Biography

Sevda pursues her Ph.D. in Business Administration with a research focus in Quantitative Marketing at Beedie School of Business. Before joining SFU, she got a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology, from where she also received her MBA degree with a Major in Marketing. Sevda is interested in econometrics and its applications in the Marketing field; consequently, she has developed her R programming skills that better help her achieve the purpose. She has been working on a life insurance company’s data set to investigate the determinant factors of consumer lapse behavior as well as the effect of agents’ incentivizing on this behavior under the supervision of Dr. Miremad Soleymanian. She also works on the empirical part of a price discrimination model in the automobile industry under the supervision of Dr. Srabana Dasgupta. Sevda has been awarded the Beedie Family Graduate Scholarship, Graduate Fellowship, and Dean’s Fellowship since the beginning of her Ph.D. program.
