Biography
As a program assistant at the Graduate Career Management Centre, Zhanata (pronounced ‘Janata’) provides administrative support to the to Beedie CMC staff, business students and alumni. Her responsibilities include managing access to online and in-office career resources, aid in event planning and registrations, and career-advising appointment bookings. Zhanata brings in diverse experience of over 5 years in administrative field, which she gained at the SFU Burnaby campus while studying as an undergraduate student and working at SFU HR’s temporary worker program. She took on various administrative roles in different departments such as Department of Alumni Relations, Library’s Data Management Resource Department, Residence & Housing and the Centre for Educational Excellence. During her time at SFU Burnaby, Zhanata had the opportunity to work with both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as staff and faculty members of varying backgrounds. Zhanata’s goal at CMC is to effectively help students succeed in their post-graduate career development by equipping them with valuable resources and services offered by the university. Zhanata holds a Bachelor of Biological Sciences with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution & Conservation.
When not working, Zhanata loves spending time with her family and her furry friend (Domestic Medium-Haired cat)! She also enjoys long walks in the city, dancing, giving back to, as well as connecting with, her community through volunteering.
