Biography
Sevda is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Business Administration at the Beedie School of Business, where she specializes in Quantitative Marketing. Prior to joining SFU, she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology and subsequently completed her MBA with a major in Marketing from the same institution. Sevda's primary interest lies in econometrics and its practical applications within the Marketing field.
Currently, Sevda is engaged in a research project focused on analyzing the impact of incentivizing sales agents on the long-term quality of acquired customers in the life insurance industry. This project is being conducted under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Miremad Soleymanian. Additionally, Sevda is involved in empirical research related to a price discrimination model within the automobile industry, working under the supervision of Dr. Srabana Dasgupta.
Throughout her Ph.D. program, Sevda has received various prestigious accolades, including the Beedie Family Graduate Scholarship, Graduate Fellowship, and Dean's Fellowship. Moreover, Sevda's research contributions have been recognized on multiple occasions. In May 2023, she was honoured with the Best Poster Award at the 8th E&T Symposium Conference held at Queen's University in Kingston. Additionally, she presented her research findings at the ISMS Marketing Science Conference in Miami, held in June 2023.
