This program is delivered in-person, in Vancouver, Canada on a part-time basis and does not qualify for a student visa or post-graduation study permit. Please review the program requirements for more detail.

Successful candidates are ready to make a difference in the world and push themselves to their highest potential. As part of this cohort, we expect you to pull your weight while bringing out the best in others.

Here’s what it takes to get into the program.
  • An undergraduate degree in any discipline. A two-year diploma and outstanding grades will be considered. A limited number of people who lack a formal degree or professional designation, but have other outstanding qualifications may be admitted.
  • Please note: For transcripts not in English or French, an official translation must be supplied. An official translator must include, as part of their translation, a declaration that they received an official, sealed copy of the transcripts that they received then proceeded to translate. These three items (the declaration, the original transcript and the translated copy) are then fastened together and (normally) stamped. In this case, we need the bound package from the translator.
  • Submissions via an evaluation agency such as WES or ICES are not accepted in place of official transcripts.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of ten years of professional work experience and four years of management. The average amount of experience of our EMBA students is 21 years with 10 or more years of management experience.
  • We take a holistic approach in accepting students for our program. We take into consideration your work and life experiences in addition to your grades and test scores.
  • All courses in the EMBA program are taught in English, therefore all applicants must be fluent in English.
  • If your primary language is not English or your previous education has been conducted in a country where English is not the primary language (see a full list of accepted countries), you must demonstrate sufficient command of the English language as evidenced by achieving a satisfactory score on a standardized English test acceptable to the University. Find more information about this requirement.
  • The six tests we accept are:
    • Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
    • Paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
    • International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS)
    • The Canadian Academic English Language Test (CAEL)
    • Pearson English Language Test (PTE)
    • Cambridge English Qualifications

The minimum University requirements for test scores are:

Internet-based TOEFL

93 with minimum of 20 in each category. In order to satisfy the requirement, applicants must achieve the scores listed above on a single test date. TOEFL MyBest (super-scored) results will not be used.

Paper-based TOEFL

580 and TWE 5

IELTS (academic)

overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section

CAEL

overall 70; minimum 60 in each section

Pearson Academic (PTE)

overall 65; minimum 60 in each section

Cambridge English Qualifications

C1 Advanced - minimum score of 193
C2 Proficiency - minimum score of 200

Please note: Candidates below the English Language requirements will be asked to retake the test.

My key lessons from the program were learning how to effectively frame and structure a problem or situation, manage a tight schedule, know what to prioritize and how to prioritize it, and identify core problems quickly and addressing them.

The comprehensive simulations provided the greatest learning for me. They helped change my mindset and connect the different areas of learning into a comprehensive view of how an organization runs.

The MSc Finance program gave me the technical foundation that I couldn’t function without. I work with clients in very senior roles, and it’s important to demonstrate your technical knowledge to gain their trust.

The Part-Time MBA was excellent. It gave me exactly what I expected to receive, and I think that is the highest compliment you can pay a program. It met all my expectations and provided a solid grounding in business skills and strategies.

The i2I program is perfect for people like me who are deeply involved in science, and who want to look for opportunities in the business world. A program like this opens your mind and teaches you that there is another world of possibilities outside of the lab.

The learners I work with are 95% Indigenous, and I find that they become more interested and retain information more, when we speak and learn from an Indigenous lens. The Indigenous content integrated into the program has been very beneficial to me in terms of how I can incorporate Indigenous information into the curriculum I currently teach.
