Internships

One sure-fire way of maximizing your EC MBA is through work experience. At the end of the 12 months of academics, complete the work term requirement by choosing between a paid four-month internship to gain real-world experience, moving straight into a full-time, permanent position or starting your own new venture. The Career Management Centre will also support you in your job search by connecting you with employers, job opportunities and additional internships. With a dedicated job board for companies seeking to hire from SFU Beedie, you’ll have countless opportunities to choose from.

Typical internship roles & responsibilities include:
  • Business & Data Analysis
  • Strategic Planning
  • Project Management
  • Marketing & Brand Management
  • Consulting
  • Product Management
  • Operations & Supply Chain Management

Companies our students have interned at include:

Entrepreneurship and social innovation

If entrepreneurship is your calling, you’ll find countless opportunities to think—and act—like a founder through programs like these:

  • RADIUS: Interested in pushing forward new ideas about how our society might work? RADIUS (RADical Ideas, Useful to Society) is a social innovation lab and venture incubator based at SFU Beedie School of Business that provides opportunities for you to engage with local social innovation projects while using your skills to benefit society as a whole.

  • Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection®: If you have a great idea, the SFU-wide program sponsored by Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection could help you turn it into a viable venture.

  • VentureLabs®: Need help to take the next step to scale up your company? VentureLabs is a business accelerator focused on structured growth and best practices for growth-stage startups.

Explore your start-up idea with an experienced entrepreneur at a Mentor Meet session. Hosted by Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection®, these free sessions are offered at all three SFU campuses and are open to the entire SFU community (students, staff, faculty, and recent alumni).
