Interested? Follow these steps
No matter where in the world your studies take you, we are here to help. SFU Beedie Study Abroad Advising appointments are available for students interested in participating in an exchange, field school or on-campus opportunity. Together we’ll explore available programs, course planning, exchange credit evaluations and decision-making tools. We’ll assist you throughout the application process and provide re-immersion support to help you adjust to your studies back home when your exchange ends.
You can connect with your Study Abroad Advisor at any point in your degree, but we recommend doing so early if you plan to pursue an exchange.

Full-Time Exchange Program
Discover yourself as you discover the world. Full-time exchange students study from one to three semesters at a SFU Beedie partner institution. Build cross-cultural competencies and develop your global mindset while receiving credit towards your BBA.
Summer, Part-time or Short-term Exchanges
Open your studies, and your mind, to new international experiences. Our part-time and short-term exchanges are typically four to six weeks in length and are ideal for students unable to travel abroad for a full semester. Join a cohort of students in various course offerings while participating in cultural excursions and site visits.
Working with over 65 world-class business partners allows SFU Beedie to provide diverse learning opportunities in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Visit our Destinations page to explore the distinguished partners waiting to welcome and share their culture with you.
While abroad, you’ll earn credits towards your BBA degree while paying regular SFU tuition fees. Plan your experience using the Course Planning and Exchange Credit Database to determine the perfect combination of institution, courses and corresponding SFU Beedie courses that meet your academic requirements. See more details on our Exchange Credit page.
How to apply
To apply for a SFU Beedie Study Abroad program, first connect with your SFU Beedie Study Abroad Advisor and visit the International Student Services (ISS) page for instructions on how to start the application process. In addition to the eligibility criteria, you must be an approved Business major to access institutions designated as a SFU Beedie Business Partner.
Please note: Some exchange partners have additional eligibility criteria, such as CGPA or unit requirements. Find out what these are and if they affect you by browsing through the International Services for Students Destinations page.
Costs and Funding
Destination, program length and type of program all affect program affordability. In recognition of the positive impact of a globalized degree, SFU and the SFU Beedie School of Business support several exchange-related awards. The complete list of awards available to SFU students, including awards specific to SFU Beedie students, is accessible on the International Services for Students Funding Options page.
Beedie Abroad Network
Studying abroad is a life-altering experience that cultivates confidence, knowledge and understanding. The SFU Beedie Abroad Network (BAN) captures the value of that experience and wisdom by connecting Study Abroad alumni with SFU Beedie business students nominated for exchange and inbound exchange students to SFU Beedie.
For more information on BAN, visit the Beedie Abroad Network.
