Business Honours
Excel in your studies so that you take more away from your undergraduate degree. Students who challenge themselves to maintain high academic standings are provided with further opportunities to bolster their resumes and become more competitive in the job market. Exceed expectations by completing a Business Honours degree.
A Business Honours degree consists of 132 units (12 units more than a traditional Business degree). Business Major students may be eligible for a variety of Honours programs offered through SFU Beedie School of Business. For more details on the Honours programs available, please see the checklists below and refer to the SFU Calendar.
Honours degree in Business Administration:
- Fall 22 - Summer 23
- Fall 20 - Summer 21
- Fall 19 - Summer 20
- Fall 17 - Summer 18
- Fall 16 - Summer 17
- Fall 15 - Summer 16
Joint Honours degree:
Admission Requirements
The following grade point averages (GPAs) must be maintained for entry into, and graduation from, any of the Honours degree programs:
- minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average (CGPA)
- minimum 3.00 upper division CGPA
- minimum 3.00 CGPA on all BUS and BUEC courses
- minimum 3.00 CGPA on all upper division BUS and BUEC courses
In addition to meeting the GPA requirements above, acceptance into the Honours program requires the completion of*:
- all required lower division courses (see Degree Planner Checklist)
- 15 units of upper division coursework in Business
Application Submission Timeline
Please note that application to the Honours program occurs one term prior to the actual admission term (e.g. if you are applying in Spring 2016 (1161), your admission to the Honours program would be for Summer 2016 (1164) and your program requirements would be those listed in the Summer 2016 (1164) SFU Calendar).
If you wish to be admitted to the Honours program with an Accounting concentration, you must first declare your area of concentration. In order to declare an Accounting concentration, you must apply for formal admission to the Accounting concentration.

*Please be aware that all concentrations noted on the application form will be added to a student's record (if accepted into the Honours Program).
