SFU Beedie Urban Development Program
Interested in building well-planned and sustainable communities for the future? Designed in collaboration with the Urban Development Institute, students learn about the inner workings of urban development, its role in the Lower Mainland, and opportunities within the industry in this six-workshop program. Management Consulting Career Preparation Program
The SFU Management Consulting Career Preparation (MCCP) Program is a skill development program for SFU undergraduate and graduate business students interested in careers in Management Consulting—with an emphasis on strategy consulting or strategic functions of a company. The program consists of lecture-based workshops held at the Segal campus, followed by multiple firm visits that deliver exclusive networking opportunities with some of the top global consulting firms.
SFU Beedie Endowment Asset Management (BEAM)
Founded in 2011, BEAM is one of the largest undergraduate student-run investment funds in Canada, with over $5 million invested in Canadian equities, fixed income and cash. It is an investment fund run entirely by undergraduate students, and members are responsible for administering the group, preparing economic research and analysis, and making investment decisions. Students selected for BEAM undergo a rigorous, hands-on training program including Bloomberg terminal certification, financial analysis, and equity research. Emphasis is on developing the same applied skills expected in a real-world finance job.
Mentors in Business (MIB)
The Mentors in Business (MIB) program pairs students with an industry professional who may offer career guidance and advice and is keen on helping build business relationships. Mentors share their knowledge, experience, and words of wisdom to help you make informed career choices and plan your career path.
