BBA: Tala Awwad
Marketing & Strategic Analysis
BBA Candidate
“I highly recommend getting involved at Beedie. I met so many great people and learned valuable skills I wouldn't have in a classroom. You also get to make some amazing memories!”
My Journey
I’ve had an entrepreneurial mindset since I was young. In elementary school, I used to make handmade crafts and sell them at art fairs and shows. Since then, I have loved the concept of building something from the ground up and owning the process entirely. That's what led me to studying business administration. I felt like a business degree encapsulated all the traits I would like in a future career.
My Experience
Launch was definitely a kickstart to my university journey. It was a 3-day event with a bunch of eager first years and senior students where we learned about all the ins and outs of university life and how to make the most out of your journey. I connected with students who I still reach out to this day to ask for advice!
In my first year, I was part of the BASS Mentorship Program and JDC West Competitors of Tomorrow. In my second year, I was the Media Marketing Manager for Enactus' Bright Ideas & The Amazing Race and a competitor on the DECA team. This past year, I was the Co-Vice President of Marketing at BASS and a JDC West Competitor. My team and I trained for months preparing for the competition, and in the end, we won 1st place!
