Biography
As a Ph.D. candidate, Lisa's evolving research interests complement her decade of experience teaching at post-secondary institutions and the foundational research skills earned during her Master's degree. Lisa's research reviews the qualitative and behavioural aspects of sustainability, impact measurement, and reporting. This includes experimental projects examining reporting strategies and interview and theory-based work examining changing experiences and roles of accountants in the workplace.
Professors Jamal Nazari and Johnny Jermias supervise Lisa's dissertation work at the Beedie School, which follows a three-paper model. Each paper examines a unique aspect of sustainability reporting: Emissions Performance, Third Party Assurance, and Social Performance. In addition to these formal positions, Lisa collaborates with many other researchers at prominent institutions across the US, Canada, and Europe. Lisa has been an accounting instructor for over a decade and teaches at the Langara School of Management and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
Lisa is grateful for the financial support of the CPAEF as she pursues her doctoral studies.
