Biography

Dr. Samantha Seto joined the Beedie School of Business in 2022 after obtaining her PhD from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington (Seattle). She is a CPA,CA and her prior professional experience include working at the University of Toronto in financial reporting/budget management and Ernst & Young LLP in Audit and Transactions Advisory in Toronto and Atlanta. 

Dr. Seto is currently on maternity leave until May 2025. 

Research Interests

My research examines the influence of accounting information and disclosure on individual judgment and decision-making. My papers examine how the evolving disclosure landscape influences the behavior and judgments of key stakeholders (investors, managers, and auditors).
