Faculty Kudos

Jul 01, 2007

SFU’s new tagline “Thinking of the World” is reinforced by what the world thinks of our faculty. Here’s what some of them are up to:

  • Dissertation Wins International Award: Rekha Krishnan, assistant professor of international business, has won the 2007 Academy of International Business Farmer Dissertation Award. Her dissertation on trust and alliance performance, When Is Trust Produced And When Does It Matter, was selected as the best doctoral dissertation completed in international business in the past 12 months around the world. In 2001, she also won the Best Dissertation Proposal award from the European International Business Academy
  • Leading-Edge Management Thinking: Gervase Bush, associate professor of management and organizational studies, is among some of the world’s leading thinkers in the field of management who have been selected as featured speakers at the international conference on Knowledge, Culture and Change in Organizations held in Singapore in July.

Names in the News: June was Wall Street Journal Online month for SFU Business when several professors were cited in two articles.

  • An article authored in part by Tom Lawrence, Weyerhaeuser Professor of Change Management and head of the CMA Centre for Strategic Change and Performance Measurement, was cited for further reading in a June 16th article, Making Change by Catherine Remoussenard. Lawrence’s article, The Underlying Structure of Continuous Change, authored with Bruno Dyck, Sally Maitlis and Michael K. Mauws (Summer 2006) can be viewed here.
