The Beedie School of Business is pleased to welcome the first cohort of students to its newest graduate program, the part-time MBA at Surrey.

The new cohort was welcomed to the school at an opening reception and orientation at the SFU Surrey campus on January 10, with classes beginning the following week.

“We are very pleased by the caliber of students in the program, as well as their enthusiasm and commitment to this opportunity,” said Dianne Cyr, Professor of Management Information Systems at the Beedie School of Business, and Academic Chair of the program. “The City of Surrey offers a growth environment in which to do business, and the part-time MBA will help meet the ever-increasing demand for talent from the area’s growing business community.”

The part-time MBA program, hosted at SFU’s award-winning Surrey campus, meets the needs of a growing number of managers, entrepreneurs and business leaders seeking to enhance their business skillset without taking a break from their careers.

The program features the same curriculum as the SFU full-time MBA, and is taught by leading faculty from the Beedie School of Business, primarily through evening sessions. It brings together students from highly diverse educational backgrounds across a wide variety of industries and functional experience.

“I am extremely excited and looking forward to two years of learning, networking and having fun,” said Amardeep Khosa, Director of Customer Service at Armtec and a student in the part-time MBA. “The cohort has an excellent group of classmates with a wealth of experience and knowledge, and I am very happy to have made this decision to join the Beedie School of Business part-time MBA.”

The Beedie School of Business is home to Canada’s first Executive MBA program, established in 1968, and has a longstanding history of creating customized programs to meet the needs of individual students. These include the EMBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership and the Management of Technology MBA programs. Additionally, the SFU Surrey campus has been the home of the school’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program since 2002.
